The Cat's Den
WHS School Store, DECA Competitor
The Cat’s Den is Weston High’s very own school-based enterprise, founded by Siyang Ding and Maxwell Burd.

The space which the Cat’s Den inhabits was originally the location of a previous store several years ago, but became a storage closet in recent years. In 2021, Siyang and Max transformed the closet into what is now the one and only Weston Cat’s Den. Now, it stands as a vibrant hub offering an array of snacks, beverages, Weston merchandise, as well as basic school supplies. The Cat’s Den currently has a team of 30+ members in a variety of functional departments, from HR, Communications, Sales, Manufacturing, and Inventory.
The Cat’s Den generates an annual revenue of $30,000 and holds partnership agreements with Weston Boosters, Brother’s Marketplace, and CMart. The Cat’s Den has fulfilled over 40 custom merchandise orders for various Weston clubs and sports teams, with 3000+ individual articles of clothing manufactured.
Connection to DECA
The Cat’s Den School Store is heavily intertwined with the DECA Business Club at Weston High School, and, starting this year, will begin officially funding the club. Members of The Cat’s Den competes in the competitive event School-Based Enterprise in both Food and Retail Operations at the Districts, States, and International level. In 2023 and 2024, the Cat’s Den has won First Place at States, and Top 10 at ICDC in Retail (SBER) and Food (SBEF).
