Competitions
Stage 1: Districts
All of our members compete at this level as part of MA District 4. Competitions are a full-day trip, generally to local conference centers. Students compete for the day, and at awards, the top 6-7 teams in each event qualifying for States. Districts serves as an incredible opportunity to gain experience.
Stage 2: SCDC
Those who qualify for States (SCDC) go on a two night trip to the Boston Seaport, competing against all MA Qualifiers for two days. Members are given the chance to win awards for their individual roleplays, tests, and papers. Top 5-6 overall in each event qualify for Internationals.
Stage 3: ICDC
Those who qualify for Internationals (ICDC) are given the incredible opportunity for a five-day trip to various locations around the US, competing against the best in the world. Top-20 in each event are awarded International Finalist, while top-three overall are given coveted DECA Glass.
Leadership
MA FSL Conference
Held in the fall of each year, the Massachusetts Fall State Leadership (FSL) Conference serves to kickoff the DECA year in style. This takes place over the course of one day through workshops that help DECA chapters around the state develop community service, fundraising, and competition goals.
DECA Power Trip
The DECA Power Trip is a multi-day trip to various locations along the East Coast (this year in Charlotte, NC). It hosts learning labs to prepare students for future careers, and talks from business leaders around the country. It also gives roleplay events a chance to practice and win awards.
S/E Marketing Conference
The Sports and Entertainment Marketing (S/E) Marketing Conference is a yearly multi-day event held in Orlando, Florida. The conference features inspiring talks from S/E Marketing leaders around the world. It also features trips to both Disneyworld and Universal Studios.
Highest: DECA ICDC
DECA ICDC is the culmination, and most attended leadership academy. Through achieving DECA thresholds, schools are allocated spots to the conference, where students attend different leadership academies, developing their skills as leaders in their communities, and within their chapters.
